Michael currently serves on the Sterling Heights City Council, and is running for re-election!
Michael spent the early part of his career working as a community organizer, communications adviser, and political activist. A proud graduate of the University of Michigan, with graduate degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics, Michael knows how to get work done and advocate for his ideas in a challenging environment.
As a 24 year resident of Sterling Heights, with a passion for local government, Michael understands that the best ideas for improving government often come from the residents themselves. An avid listener, Michael intends to take his campaign door-to-door, ensuring that the concerns of residents are well represented on council.
Michael knows that families move to Sterling Heights because of our low crime rates. Public Safety is our city's crown jewel, and Michael promises to advocate strongly for increased police and fire protection.
Michael also understands that encouraging young families to move to Sterling Heights is the key to our city’s future. These new residents expand our tax base and allow Sterling Heights to provide excellent city services at one of the lowest tax rates in Macomb County. Michael will continue to make our city an attractive and safe place to live, work, and play for all residents.
“I know that diversity is one of Sterling Heights’ great strengths. Our city’s openness to residents from around the globe, coupled with our low taxes and excellent services, make us a destination for young families and new citizens alike.”
